| So, I realized this morning that it has been FOREVER since I updated this showcase thread. My bad. I had good intentions of posting pics of the corals that I had acquired a few months ago, but obviously never got to it... Time to catch up! Here's the corals that I've acquired over the last several months. And, more pics will follow shortly, because I've gotten a few new frags this month that I haven't gotten a chance to take pics of yet, including an Elegance coral that Nicholas picked up for me from Retangs yesterday... Psammocora: Green People Eater Palys: Mushroom: Will's Fireballs And, a FTS: | |

| So, about a month ago, I had an acro-accident. I was trying to frag my formosa staghorn to give Eric a piece, and, when I took the bone cutters to it, the whole colony just crumbled. The colony was about 6" x 6", and it crumbled into about 20 pieces. Needless to say, that day kinda sucked and I shed a few tears... However, I rubberbanded the pieces of the acro together in an approximation to how the colony used to look, and I hoped for the best. I had no idea whether it would die or actually survive the accident... Now, it's a little over a month later, and I am soooooo happy to report that the acro is doing great! All of the acro pieces actually grew back together! I have now removed the rubberbands and the colony is able to support itself!! I'm so happy!! Check out the pics below... Before the acro-accident: After the acro-accident, with the rubberbands holding the acro together: Today: | |

| That is SOOOO cool; perfect example of the self sustaining power of these creatures! It actually looks really good and aside from a few stumps, it isn't obvious it fell apart. In fact, it gives the acro an almost alien look to it with the branches going every-which-way. | |

| Yeah. Originally, this acro was growing so quickly that I was fragging it so often that I couldn't sell the frags quick enough. I ended up laying the frags that I didn't sell on top of the acro and saw that they reattached in whatever way I laid them (even upside down). I was calling the project my "crazy acro experiment" ( https://aquarists-at-usf.forumotion.com/t146-diy-crazy-acro). However, after shattering the acro and repairing it, that "experiment" takes the cake! And the acro certainly does look "crazy"! | |

| That's crazy... But awesome! I bet you could do some cool shapes if you really took the time to plan it. Kind of like those people who shape trees to make benches and statues etc. | |

| Frogspawn has never done well for me. One of the last pieces that I bought had it's head blown off the first night in my aquarium. HOWEVER, this new frogspawn is doing really well! I've never seen frogspawn so happy in my aquarium before!!! | |

| It looks great! I've noticed that a lot of people who don't have reef tanks seem to be drawn to items like frogspwan and xenia ect. This will definitely catch anyone's eyes! It looks beautiful! | |

| Thanks guys!! I've never tried hydnophora before, so I'm pretty excited about that. And, I LOVE the frogspawn!! I seriously thought it was going to like the ones I bought in the past. I took out a Koralia and really tried to shelter the frogspawn in the cove of the LR, so maybe that did the trick. | |
