| Bought a new fish at FAOIS. Meet Waldo III... I wasn't going to get another tailspot blenny, but I couldn't resist. They're just too cute. | |

| Dont you just love $3 frags! Love the clown pics! Did you happen to see a very large vlamingii in there? I know a guy sold all the contents of his tank (a VERY nice 225g tank) to that store and he was the guy I sold my vlamingi to.. | |

| Bit of an update... Found red bugs in my aquarium on my acros. Don't know how I got them or how long they've been there, but it could explain the loss of coloration and bit of die-off that I had noticed on my acros. Bought Interceptor (dog heartworm medication) to treat the tank for red bugs. Set-up a 10 gallon to put the crabs and shrimp in for the 3 weeks that it takes to do the treatment. Caught all of my hermit crabs, but couldn't catch my shrimp, emerald crab, or ruby crab. Didn't care so much about the crabs, but I really wanted to catch Junior... ...Finally gave up and added the Interceptor to the aquarium the other night. The next morning, I found Junior still alive (but really loopy and not looking so good), scooped him out and added him to the 10 gallon. Today he looks much better, and I'm hoping he pulls through. Did a 25% water change, started skimming again, and added fresh carbon. The Interceptor decimated the red bug population, but I did see one little bugger crawling around yesterday. I plan to do two more treatments within the next couple of weeks, and that should take care of them. | |

| I would move your leapord to your macro tank for the time, it will have way more pods in there and if you need to you can always add more pods to it. Would hate to see your wrasses die due to the meds..

| I thought about it, but I don't think I'd ever catch the wrasses... | |

| So, ignoring the depressing leopard wrasse situation and the stupid red bugs, I figured I'd focus on a positive aspect of this aquarium: My New T5 Light Bulbs!!!! Got 6 new bulbs from ReefGeek for Christmas. Switched from my old set-up of 2 Aquablue Special, 3 Blue Plus, and 1 Purple, to... 2 Aquablue Special, 2 Blue Plus, 1 Actinic, and 1 Purple. Switching one of the Blue Plus for the Actinic definitely changes the color spectrum on my tank. I can't decide if I like it more or less this way, but I'm happy with how everything looks. I'm hoping that in a month or so, my corals will color up to the new bulbs and that the Actinic will bring out some nice colors in them! Dawn/Dusk: Daylight: | |

how are the wrasses doing? The smaller of the 2 has still never come out, so I think that it's safe to assume she's dead at this point. On the other hand, the larger one is coming out occasionally; however, she only stays out for about an hour, so I've been trying to keep an eye on the tank and feed them when I see her out (being back at USF has made this a little complicated ). The good news is that she does eat when I feed. She's not quite the pig that Harry is, but she's getting a good share of brine in. There was one day when I saw Harry picking on her, and I got worried. I'm hoping it was just a fluke; it hasn't happened again... | |
