Nick's 90 gallon aggressive reef tank

I'm good on the urchins, they should be plenty. Turns out they eat coraline, I knew the rock looked super white lol

So Updates! All of my urchins are doing fine, I have 3 pin cushions, a black spine, and a pencil urchin. The filefish is doing great and has become very friendly. I thought the wrasse was dead, but apparently he isn't. I hadn't seen him in three weeks and he showed himself today. He has grown quite a bit.

Thanks guys! I'll post up a FTS in the next few days, hopefully my lions will begin to swim around a bit . The tan/yellow one is Todd, and the red one is Michael.

Still think you should have gone with Lion King names or Aslan. You have a perfect Mufasa and Scar (yellow and red) differentiation.

the irony is amusing. you have the big bad lionfish and his name is Todd!

I thought that was why it was fitting. Both of the lionfish showed no interest in the mysis shrimp I put in. Tomorrow I am going to try some really small silversides.

Hmm, hope they start eating soon. It's typical for new fish not to eat the first couple of days, though...

Maybe try live feeder shrimp?

I'll try silversides on a stick, and if they don't go for it after 2 days I may go and get some shrimp.

this would be interesting.. take a low lb test weight fishing line and loop it through the head of the silverside, then tie it infront of a powerhead (few inches off) so it stays floating and blows around a lil?

So I spent about 20 minutes sorting my silversides into small, medium and large earlier, and then froze them immediately. I went to the tank and use a long pair of tongs and held the silverside in front of the redish lionfish making it move back and forth. He was clearly excited (all of his fins lifted, and he scooted forward a bit). I released the silverside and it was in his mouth in under 15 seconds . The yellow didn't go after it right away, but he was where it sank to when I came back into the room a few minutes later.

So I'm still going to get a fish tonight as well as some zoas, but I picked up a fish from Creative Aquariums. It has to be the best looking Fu manchu lionfish I have ever seen. It's approx. 4 in.
