Aquarist Club at USF April Meeting!

Our final meeting of the Spring semester will be held on Tuesday, April 17th at 5:00pm in MSC 3704 (Tarpon Room). Our guest speaker at the meeting will be Michael Middlebrooks, a graduate student at USF studying Biology under Dr. Susan Bell. At the meeting, Michael will be presenting his dissertation work on sea slugs! Specifically, he will be talking about the photosynthetic sea slug Elysia clarki (also known as the Lettuce Sea Slug)!



We will be providing snacks and drinks as usual. Please RSVP in the poll posted above!

I remember seeing the article on this forum about the photosynthetic slug! I can't wait!!!

on a side note, i'll be at usf all day on the 14th volunteering at the plant sale ( my other hobby). Anything I need to bring/pickup from anyone? lol if you still don't want that gorgonian I'll take it Nick

I must say, of all the sea slugs, that one is the most interesting.

He's my TA in Invertebrates Lab. He actually just successfully defended his dissertation and now we have to call him Dr Mike But really, he's a really nice and his research is pretty cool

That's awesome! I haven't met him in person, but Dr. Bell recommended him and he seems really nice over e-mail.

Cool meeting! I learned a TON considering I knew practically nothing about sea slugs! Now I want one!!

There certainly are some cool looking varieties.
