| Hey Everyone! So I figured it was about time to update you all on my new project. I am in the process of designing and building a 30 Gallon long Saltwater tank. Being as I am the only one (I feel) in this group that does not have a saltwater tank, now is the time to start. Step 1: I have the tank Step 2: I am going to build the stand to house a 20 gallon long DIY sump Step 3: Light fixture and Lights Step 4: Drill internal filter Step 5: Get protein skimmer Step 6: DIY Sump (lol ) Step 7: Set up wave type system (I know how just not what its called lol) Step 8: Live Rock Step 9: Coral (Im not too sure as of now which type of coral I am going to get) Step 10: Fish (Im not too sure yet, I am hoping to have 3 or 4 fish in the tank. As of now Im thinking of a Flame Angle, 2 Black Ocellaris, and maybe one other) Step 11: Sit back, and enjoy =D Ill get a picture of my tank as soon as I can =P, and let me know what you think. | |

| AWESOME!!!!!! Welcome to the Dark Side! You're not the only freshwater person, for some reason the saltwater people are just more active on the forum... Anyway! Your set-up sounds like it's going to be GREAT! And, I think your fish choices sounds great as well. My only caution would be to warn you that a flame angel might nip at your coral. It's a 50/50 chance that it will, so make sure that you want to take that chance. Flame angels are gorgeous, though... | |

| That's great to hear Don! You're going to be three gallons up on me, I'm currently in the works of setting up a 27 gallon tank! Good luck with the setup! If you have any questions post away! | |

| I would take the risk of a 50/50 chance on the flame! They are beautiful! I keep a coral beauty and have never had a problem.. My neighbor used to have one too.. never had a problem. I think its more like 75/25 chance but that's JMO. If nothing else, they're not that hard to fish out.. I've heard the only thing they would cause serious damage too would be clams. As long as you don't plan on keeping clams you should be fine.. | |

| Well I really am thinking about keeping a Crocea Clam. I live Coral Beauties but one of my frat brothers has one and hes upping his 20long to a 120gal so I dont want to have the same fish he has (Kind of like going to two Identical aquariums), and hes pretty much my saltwater mentor. | |

| Your system sounds like it will be awesome!
I had a Flame Angel for about a year and he never messed with my bubble coral or the feather duster colony I had. Though he did suicide jump out of the Tank from the only 3by4 inch area uncovered *pouts* Also, I would get your Ocellaris as young as you can find ones you like. Clowns can be termperamental when they're young and dont know each other. | |

| Nah, I like the flame. It actually grew on me so I am going with that. I like the half black, but theres just something about the flame. And I planned on young Ocellaris. | |

| I think Eibli angelfish are beautiful. So are flame angels, though. According to Liveaquaria, Eibli angels would be fine in a 30 gallon. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+16+457&pcatid=457 | |

| yeah personal experience with owners of the fish is nice to know. I have read that they can sometimes pick on zoas, so I'd assume there's a chance they would pick at clams. I'd like to know this too as I'm debating fish and clams at the moment. | |

| In the size tanks we have we can only get Crocea Clams, They only get 6" long, and surprisingly enough actually look pretty good =] | |

| Those are good looking! But I might go with an anemone over a clam, 70 to 90 is a lot of money when I think RBTA look really good. Typically you can find them for sale from people whose RBTA had split. Plus I'd love to see clowns host it | |

| Hey Don, I know you were thinking about an Eibli dwarf angel. I came across this thread on RC: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2062433. Beautiful fish for sale, but the owner says it's nipping at all of the corals in the aquarium... | |

| Sorry I havent been on in a while =[. I feel like i fell of the face of the earth. But the sad news is that this tank is now being post-poned =[. I dont have the time or the extra money to get it going. I might buy some things along the way, or build them along the way, but all in all I might have to wait till the summer to start over again =/. UNLESS! I end up starting a saltwater tank for my gf. My next project will be for here so either a 55gal hex freshwater planted angel tank, or a 55 gal hex saltwater seahorse tank =P | |
