Some of you all may have noticed that there is a new thread posted under the "Contests" sub-forum titled: "Point Sheet for 2011-2012". Also, there are now links on the Portal/Home page that link you to the "Point Sheet for 2011-2012" thread as well as this thread. Additionally, all members' posts and profiles now include a "Points" counter. This is because...

From this August 2011 until April 2012, we will be awarding points to Aquarist Club at USF members (Officers and Honorary Members excluded) for participation in club activities. At the end of the school year, the 5 members with the most points will win a desktop aquarium!

There will be multiple opportunities to obtain points throughout the semester...

Below are the amount of points awarded for different kinds of participation:

Forum Participation:
5pts. - Awarded for every 100 posts that you make on the forum
5pts. - Entering a picture in the Picture of the Month (PotM) Contest
5pts. - An additional 5pts. will be awarded if you win the PotM Contest
5pts. - Winning the Picture of the Year (PotY) Contest

Club Involvement:
10pts. - Awarded for attending member meetings
10pts. - Awarded for attending member socials
5pts. - Awarded for attending club trips

*Other point opportunities may arise as the school year progresses*

What exactly do you mean by desktop aquarium? biocube?

No, not a Biocube. Biocubes are a tad bit out of our budget range. The aquariums will be approximately $40 in value each. We're looking at some of the 1-5 gallon desktop aquariums offered from Petco (they are the only store so far to accept a PO order).

Important Announcement:

Points will be frozen as of 12pm on Friday, April 20th.

On Friday, April 20th we will be holding our End of the Year Banquet at which we will be awarding the five members with the most participation points for the 2011-2012 school year with desktop aquariums!!!!


Final Point Events for the 2011-2012 School Year!:

- March Meeting on 3/20
- March PotM
- March Forum Postings (5 pts. for each 100 posts)
- Trip to Mote Aquarium on 4/07
- April Meeting on 4/17
- PotY
- April Forum Posting up until 4/20 at 12pm (5 pts. for each 100 posts)
