Brightwell Aquatics - Reef Snow

Has anybody ever used Reef Snow by Brightwell Aquatics? I bought some for the first time because my tree coral has really started opening up again and I thought I'd try and give it something other than ... Im not even sure what he's been eating for the past few years... Anyway, I opened it up and the seal was slightly.... loose? Not unsealed but VERY easy to kinda slide off instead of peal... And it was kinda brown. Turns out the entire bottle is full of a brown, smelly liquid! I was expecting a clear liquid with white particles in it... you know, like snow! Did I get a rotten batch or something? I AM NOT putting this in my tank until I know more and I cant find any pictures of it in google or used in youtube videos. I dont know about this...

i have no idea but i'd say if th eseal slides off, return it and try another bottle

Hmm. I've never used Brightwell's Reef Snow, so I'm not really sure what it's supposed to look or smell like. I do envision a clear white particle "snow" solution like you said, though. I'm with Eric: Take it back and exchange it, or contact Brightwell and ask them what it should look/smell like.

They (the store owners) said it was supposed to be brown and it's only called "snow" because of the way it drifts through the water slightly downward and in current flows. And I got confirmation of the color by a classmate who also uses it. But they happily replaced it anyway because of the seal anyway.
