| Oh I've heard horror stories that require stitches...I'm well prepared, I've got a good rubber pair of work gloves...I'm just worried about the whole seal job at the top of the tank Here's the tank on the counter and the seals that I'm worried about having to reseal And the seals | |

| Yea so I'm thinking the whole rimless part is going to be out at least on this tank for right now...who knows though I may stop by the store and pick up some sealant | |

| I think I'll drop by petco today and see if there's one that I can exchange it for with a better seal job in the corners...man I really had plans for rimless for this tank if not I guess I will just have to adapt | |

| yea I'm wanting to get this project going here soon...IDK though where I'm planning on putting it maybe the rim would be better because it'll be easy access for the cats to get up there | |

| Yea so far so good with holding the water. I may just leave the rim on where it's at since I know that the cats will be in there and I don't want to see cut cats...at least until I can get a stand and a place for another tank.... | |

| The light says to use a cover, but we know what glass covers do down here.... Got my Filters in here's a tentative placement Wish I could get more done this morning but my 20# Co2 tank for my big tank is at ~400 LB PSI after 4 months so I think I have a small leak and have to get it replaced today or I will be out this weekend and that will be a mess for my tank | |

| Subject: Initial Setup....more tweaking to come Sat May 04, 2013 2:36 am | |
| Big Update Time!!!!!! So yea, I got a little bit of time and I went to work tonight. It was driving me mad and I was worried about my riccia dying some of it started to, so I HAD to get to work...I hate seeing plants that aren't healthy Anyway..... After my initial setup I tweaked it a bit to try to avoid so much splash on the light so I lowered it a bit as you can see here...all rinsed and the initial few drops are in there A rear view pre-airline running, notice the black cable on the left, that's for my in tank thermometer A general idea in case I have airline issues (which I did I needed to put in a pressure dial in the middle line) Left, Middle, Right, Airline Airline work made neater, still not sure how I'm going to hide this on this side Front view of the hoses, almost hidden, notice the line for the sensor is tucked behind so if I have to change out equipment tubes for any reason I won't have to pull the thermometer Man I forgot how dirty Floramax is..... Burying the sensor Base layer down, next up rock work Placing sponges at substrate level Creating a cave for planned bristlenoses Using other rocks to support the cave on both sides to prevent movement of the walls Back of cave support Living room to kitchen view Kitchen to living room....a breakfast bar well used Thanks for dropping by for the big update Any comments/suggestions are welcomed...I know I want to add a few more plants, trying to find a short height runner style plant if you guys have any suggestions I'd love to hear them | |

| The plan that I really wanted I don't have the room to do in this tank, I guess that will be for my next tank when I get out of this apartment LOL | |

| Thanks I think I'm going to be moving the filters around just a bit, I don't like the way the the bubbles are slapping the light and I don't really want to get a lid for the tank so I'm going to grab an in tank filter as well to help increase circulation | |

| So again I've been slacking here! Time for an update!!!!! I added a few more plants, moved some stuff around but the general theme remains the same I also got my shrimp in there !!!! I ordered some SS Grade CRS (there's 20 in there somewhere), 3 ivory mystery snails, a canopy (just in case the snails want to breed) and an albino BN Pleco. Here's the female ABN chillin on a cholla wood piece under the filter with the IAL leaf and one of the shrimp now Another view of two shrimp hanging out on this side of the tank Two CRS hanging out at the base of the Peacock moss rock (WOOT a new moss species for me ) And another of the same two as they inch their way out Riccia (floating freely -- trying to see if I can get it to succeed as a floater in this tank) in between some pennywort, look at the root and leaf color! I can't get enough of staring into this area of the tank! Another CRS checking out the cholla wood with attached needle leaf java fern, I've never tried this plant before and am interested to see if it will attach itself to the cholla. Full tank shot view from the living room (please excuse my messy counters I just did tank maintenance) And last but not least!!!! I got an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING shot of one of my new shrimps with my Galaxy S4 Camera. I couldn't believe it when I was looking at it on the computer...I'm still in shock!!! Thanks for dropping by! As always if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them, This tank has become my favorite. I hope you enjoy it too | |
