 St. Augustine Beach Pics

St. Augustine Beach Pics Empty

This past weekend, my family and I took off to St. Augustine. Here are some pics of the sea life. surfing

Washed up jellyfish. They were everywhere! pale

St. Augustine had a a bunch of codium washed up on the beach as well. Until I started researching macroalgae for my macroalgae aquarium, I never payed attention to seaweed. However, now that I can identify different macros, I was pretty psyched to find some in St. Augustine.

Here are 2 pics of codium near the shore at the Castillo de San Marcos:

Codium is known commonly as Dead Man's Fingers because of its shape. Gross name, right? Neutral

We also saw some sargassum:

Probably the coolest thing that we saw, though, was a live shark! He was BIG, too! It looked like a hammerhead or shovel-nose. Here's the really bad pic that I took of it as I fumbled with the camera: lol
