| A few weeks ago I placed my first order with Reefcleaners.org. Their prices were unbeatable, but, unfortunately, I can't say that I was pleased with my order or their customer service... A few days after placing my order with them for some macros, a gorgonian, and some snails, I received an e-mail saying that my order shipped. However, two hours later, I received an e-mail saying that my order was canceled. WTF? So I e-mailed Reefcleaners. Their response was that it was normal to receive a "cancellation" e-mail and that I shouldn't worry. Really? Normal?? Then my order arrived. It took over 24hrs for the package to arrive. Florida is HOT! The box that they shipped my order in was a standard cardboard box with no insulation (unless you count some crumpled newspaper as insulation) and no cooling packs. Needless to say, all of the water in the macro bags was warm and the stench coming from the box (before I even opened up the macros) was unbelievable! While some of the macros arrived looking fine (pics are in my showcase thread), the gorgonian arrived almost dead (or dead), and three of the macros that I ordered were missing from the shipment. Once again, I contacted Reefcleaners. On the same day that the order arrived I received a refund for $9. However, I was missing $13 worth of macros. I questioned Reefcleaners about this, expressing my confusion. This was the response that I received: "Sorry about the missing macros, it sounds like that was what the refund was for." That was it. The entire response. I decided not to quibble with them over $4, but I don't think I will ever order from them again. Additionally, most of the macros that I ordered from them (although some arrived looking fine) died within two to three days. At first I thought that it was that my lighting was too strong or that my aquarium's water parameters were the culprit. However, my water parameters have tested fine, and macros that I got from a local reefer and from Live-Plants.com are happy and healthy as can be. From this, I have inferred that Reefcleaners' inadequate packaging must have caused the macros and gorgonian enormous shipping stress, stress that eventually killed them... | |
