Still haven't taken any pics of the two new neon gobies. They are doing really well, though. I was worried that they wouldn't eat, but they are PIGS!! All of the gobies are CRAZY eaters! I'll take some pics of the new gobies soon...

Time for the pics of the new macros! These are from the last order from live-plants.com. I was a little disappointed with the order (the euchema arrived half dead, the gorgonian arrived not looking too hot but is coming back, and the mermaid wine glasses arrived bleach white), but they threw in free halymenia...give and take, I guess...

I also found a cool discovery a month or so ago. One of my first macro orders ever contained halimeda, but it arrived nearly dead and died a week later. However, I found a little stalk of halimeda growing the other day! One leaf must have survived and taken root! It's been growing well over the last few weeks, and looks really good!

the euchema should color up with time and different lighting. I like the corraline cluster!

Unfortunately, the euchema isn't coloring up. Rather, it's disintegrating. I've only got about a 1/4th of it left. Any suggestions??

And, yeah, it was really cool finding the halimeda! And, I can't believe how big it's getting so quickly! Really neat!

Thanks everyone! The sea whip seems happy. I'm glad to see the polyps out already! And, yes, it is HUGE, but you should have seen the rest of the ones at Westside! Those were MONSTERS! I bought the smallest one!

@Eric: The LEDs seem to be fine for it (this is my standard Ecoray fixture; the LEDs from you I was going to try on my 50 gallon, but they are too strong. I'll have to take them back to Nolan's, but thanks for letting us borrow them! ) As far as feeding it, I'm pretty sure it's photosynthetic. I don't feed my two other ones, and they do fine.

Just went 3 months without doing a WC on this tank! AMAZING!! My other aquarium requires weekly WCs, but the macros are so efficient in this tank! It's so nice that this tank is so flexible...especially since my thesis has sucked up most of my time this semester!

Any updated shots?

I'll have to get to that...once I magfloat the tank. You can barely see in the aquarium at the moment...

Time for an update!


Everything is doing well. The ochtodes has really flourished. Lately I've been thinking of ditching the clam and anemone idea and making this a seahorse tank. Fell in love with some yellow seahorses at Creative Aquariums, and now I feel like I need them. Only time will tell, though...
