Keep a close eye on it, it's either a small scratch or ich. Keep us updated on it.

+1 Might be a scratch or ich. The stress of moving to your aquarium might have caused the ich to outbreak. Keep us updated.

Bad news guys...I was watching the Coral Beauty today and he all of a sudden just died and fell to the bottom of the tank...I left the apt and came back a couple hours later and my flame angel was dead as well...no signs of ich or anything on him. I dont know why this happened but the clowns seem to be doing fine.

Shocked that's awful! Clowns are pretty hardy as they're related to damsels (I've heard you can even cycle your tank with them!) but I hope it's nothing serious! Ich may have been able to take out the Coral Beauty, but I cant imagine it would have taken out the Flame Angel so quickly with no external signs. Hmm...

Oh no! That's terrible! cry

Like Ashley said, perhaps the coral beauty died of ich, but it doesn't make sense that it took down the flame angel too w/o any visible signs...

Water are your water parameters? I know you were having an issue with salinity. Also, since you just recently set-up the aquarium, it's possible that it's still cycling, or that when you added all of the fish at about the same time that it triggered another cycle... Sad

+1, adding the fish to the system may have caused a spike test the water and see if they are off.

The coral beuaty is not too surprising.. especially if the flame angel and the coral beauty were fighting at all..

The flame doens't make sense though.. let us know about the paramaters.

Sorry for the loss Sad

Thanks guys for the concern...I don't have my own water testing kit yet but I had my water tested at marine warehouse and by Lee at corals and fins and everything checked out good so I really don't know what happened...

The clowns are doing great I got some more rock today and a couple bags of chaeto? for my refugium. I'll keep you guys posted.

That's weird for the fish to die but your water parameters to be fine. Happened to Nicholas41 too, though. Sad

The additional LR should help, and the chaeto is a good addition. I love my refugium and chaeto! love 2

No kidding, not good! I suspect the butterfly ingested something that bounced off the macaw's stand (when he cracks harder nuts, the shells shatter in all directions).. currently we're trying to figure out if we should cover the back of the tank or go without fish big enough to eat nut shards :b It would have been a freak incident, as the only way to get in the tank is to slide over the biowheel.. but anything is possible.
