Vodka Dosing Empty
PostSubject: Vodka Dosing   Vodka Dosing EmptySun Mar 18, 2012 2:01 am

So I stopped by a fellow members house from RC today. I've seen his tank several times now and he has recently started vodka dosing. The tank looked amazing! Every coral was just stunning and showing amazing growth rates. Any thoughts?

I know people dose vodka with success, but I've never tried. From the articles you posted, it sounds like it's a good idea to dose with vodka if you have high nitrates/phosphates/feed a lot/have high bioload, otherwise I don't see the point. In my opinion, I wouldn't dose unless I had a problem with my aquarium. No need to add something new when everything is fine and crash the aquarium on accident...

Only some reported a few corals loosing color, others thought they had increased. The chalices that KC and me both have don't look comparable. True he's running 2 MH in a geissmen, but I did see them originally and they didn't look near as good. His Monti also had nearly a half inch growth ring on it!

It was KCsnooks. I'm tempted but your supposed to do it daily and we are leaving out of town twice in may and in June. It's not worth the risk atm.
