Funding!

I just wanted to let you all know that I am meeting with a representative from USF Student Government tomorrow to discuss our eligibility for FUNDING!!!!

Hopefully, the meeting will go well. Then our budget request will be sent to the senate for approval. Wish us luck!!

So, the meeting with the representative went okay. Unfortunately, SG won't fund any of our member meetings, so we are going to have to rely on sponsorships for our regular meetings.

The good news is that SG was open to providing funding for our socials and, possibly, for trips to local aquariums.

Our budget request will now be submitted to an appropriations committee for revision, and then will be submitted to the SG Senate to either approve or reject. The process should take about 4 weeks.

I'll keep you all updated.

Well, better than nothing I suppose! At the very least funding to get us into places would be helpful, or to help us secure speakers, whatevs

I just received an e-mail from SG. Our budget request has been approved by SG. I contacted the head of A&S Funding to set-up an appointment and open our account. While our budget was approved, it may have been revised (meaning that SG may have reduced our requests and denied certain requests like funding for a trip to the aquarium). I will find out in short time (hopefully), and let you all know as soon as I know something!

I was contacted by SG A&S today. They approved our request, and now Nicholas and I just have to meet with them and then our account should be activated. Whoop!

SG alloted us a little over $1000 which is awesome! The kinda bad news is that I had requested about $4000, so SG only approved a 1/4 of our budget. We'll manage, though! The money should be enough to continue to fund snacks for our meetings and socials, as well as at least 1 trip, and prizes for our top participation point-earners.

I'll let you know how the meeting with SG goes tomorrow...

lol, Eric. I'm working on it. Hopefully other members are too considering there is only one week left!

Sadly for me theres only so much I can do with freshwater. Nothing is really orange, and I dont put anything fake in my fish tanks. I feel fake things take away from the liveliness of the fish tank =]

You could put something fake in just for the PotM pic and then take it out. Or put something on top of or infront of the aquarium...
