PostSubject: Hello fellow fish-lovers!   Sun Aug 28, 2011 8:04 pm

Greetings all, my name is Ashley and I, happily, have just discovered the aquarists club here at USF! I have kept many fish when I lived back in St Louis and am now keeping some in sunny/rainy Tampa. Here has presented me with a mess of challenges that I am still working through, but I am sure will overcome Smile

*edit* gah! Didn't mention my fishes.. fail on my part. I live in a pretty compressed condo, so right now I have a 20 gallon freshwater and a little 3 gallon where some aggressive little buggers have been banished to.. but that's another story. I also do have two bettas, and on the hunt for one more really super one.. again another story Smile

So in closing, I'm excited to meet everyone, and I look forward to our first member meeting!

Best fishes,
Ashley fishy

Welcome to the forum, Ashley! welcome

Like Nicholas said, it's nice to have another freshwater member. We've gotten a lot of salty people lately (not that there's a problem with that). Wink

You should definitely start some showcase threads for your aquariums. I want to know who got banished to the 3 gallon. lol angel

I feel like FW is often shunned off to a corner.. but I defend it! LOL. Besides.. I volunteer at CMA so I like coming home to something different Wink Pics to come for sure.. but first, off to trouble shoot my tank here in the forum. Let's see if you can help!

FW is great too! I have 2 little FW setups of my own. You can do stuff with them that you just can't with the reefs.

At CMA, I am part of the turtle rehab team! I just learned how to care for our turtles in ICU, pretty fun stuff!

And hooray SuperDave! Glad to hear! Smile

Thank you! A lot of people recently have been upset because CMA is small and without a ton of exhibits.. I feel as if people assume it to be like the FL aquarium. I think people forget that first and foremost, CMA is a hospital and rehabilitation center (though with the opening of Dolphin Tale, we shall see what happens!). Second.. it's non-profit Smile , money for expansion is hard to come by! I was staff at the suncoast seabird sanctuary for a long while and that was something we were always suffering through.
