PostSubject: Good deal?   Good deal? EmptyMon Jul 11, 2011 12:43 am

I was looking on CL and found this add for a watermelon chalice. I doubt that its Tyree at this price but in comparison to other prices it seems like a great deal. Just looking to get some input on it.

Don't know much about chalices, but I would look around at some of the local fish stores to see any comparable pieces and check the price that way.

That's a good idea, I'll try to get out to a couple of stores this week I could use some more blue leg crabs anyways. Thanks! thanks

From what I've read online, that is a great deal if it really is a Tyree chalice. However, I'd ask the CL guy for an actual pic of his chalice. Then I'd compare the actual chalice to pics of the Tyree ones online. Maybe post the pic on a few forums for an ID. I would guess that it's probably a knock-off at that price...

...I'm kinda cynical, though Neutral

No problem. I'm not saying it's not Tyree, just be cautious.

So the email came from phil, I've seen it before in his frag tank months back and fell in love. Interestingly enough it was 50 dollars back then. Maybe it's a bigger frag. Glad to see you on here mangoman!

$75 for a frag of watermelon chalice is about standard. i've seen them sell for about $10-15 per eye though, i'd just wait around. $75 can buy some useful equipment Smile

Also, what type of lighting do you have on your fluval edge?

Yeah after looking around I found it was an average price for it. Yes it could be used towards useful equipment or... a Tyree space monster>???? mr. green Still a ton of money though and such a risk pale . I currently have the 18inch reef capable marineland leds on top after my cree led experiment failed. lol
